How To Be Irreplaceable in the Automated Workplace, Training Course, STUC, 12 July,2017
This course is an introduction into the changing world of work in light of technological progress. You will be given the chance to build and code a robot of your own! The course will end with a discussion on what sort of skills people will need in the next few years to face the challenges of automation, and how the Scottish trade union movement can support this.
Will robots take over the world? Can they think like us? Can they act like us? Let’s get to grips with understanding the practicalities of an automation revolution.
This workshop will consider what makes a job safe or at risk, both now and in the future. The evening will be very interactive and hands-on with the opportunity to build and code a robot of your own! No previous computer coding experience is required and all equipment will be provided.
This event is aimed at young workers, and is part of the Scottish Union Learning Young Workers’ Project. For more information, contact Sarah Collins, Young Workers’ Project Administrator, at [email protected]
