Timothy, an aspiring actor and John, the captain of the football team, fell in love as teenagers at an all-boys high school in Melbourne in the 1970s. Adapted from Timothy Conigrave’s cult classic memoir of the same name, Holding the Man is a sensitive and poignant tale of love and loss.
