Booked – West Dunbartonshire Book Festival, 2016

The Festival runs until 20 May, 2016 with events at various libraries and Clydebank Town Hall
An award-winning TV comic, a former prisoner, a veteran sports journalist and a popular cabaret club are among the acts coming to West Dunbartonshire for this year’s Booked! Festival of Words.
Watch out for books, spoken word and music. For the first time in the festival’s 14-year history each of West Dunbartonshire’s eight libraries will play host to at least one event, ensuring the whole area can experience Booked! on their doorstep.
The festival will include a series of special events to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Clydebank Blitz.. Artist Tom McKendrick, whose Blitz-inspired paintings are currently on display at Clydebank Town Hall, will speak about the events of 1941 and how it has inspired his work. Meanwhile local authors Meg Henderson, Sue Reid Sexton and Cathy Forde will each host events reflecting on the Clydebank Blitz.

Booked! events are free but ticketed (£5 charge for Rally and Broad cabaret on 16 May at Clydebank Town Hall)
