A Life For Football (Landauer – Der Präsident)
Director: Hans Steinbichler, 89 min, 2014
Kurt Landauer, a Jewish man living in Germany, considers fleeing the country on the eve of WWII. But when he sees his greatest love, the football club Bayern Munich, lying in ruins, he decides to take the risk, stay and rebuild the club.
The screening is part of Goal! Tor! But! – a month-long celebration of football and community from across Europe, in Glasgow 1-30 April, organised by the Goethe Institut Glasgow and the Alliance Française de Glasgow.
