Record Store Day 2016
Saturday 16 April, 2015
Love Music Glasgow
Record Store Day – The annual celebration of Independent Record shops.
Love Music are celebrating another year of selling music in Glasgow. There are 557 new releases coming out on April 16th and Love Music will have hundreds of them in stock.
Live Music and DJ
We’ll also have live music from some great Scottish musicians, a free Tea stall and their famous Record Store Day cakes. This year, as well as live music in the shop itself, they have hired both The Vale, 5-7 Dundas St, Glasgow G1 2AH and Dows, 9-11 Dundas St, City Centre, Glasgow G1 2AH – upstairs function room.
There will be a DJ set-up in Dows with sets by our friends at Olive Grove Records, Glasgow Podcart, Scottish Fiction, Rockin’ Tom Rafferty from the Primevals and the Beat Poets, and Love Music’s own Soul Boy Davey Bee.
Bands at The Vale
So far confirmed are the Filthy Tongues, Pinact, Man of Moon, Be Charlotte and Marshall Chipped.
More information will be available on Facebook Event Page. This year Love Music are also offering a “bag-sitting ” service at the shop if you don’t want to carry your purchases around all day.
“This is a day for the people who make up the world of the record store—the staff, the customers, and the artists—to come together and celebrate the unique culture of a record store and the special role these independently owned stores play in their communities.”
