Filmed continuously over the course of one evening in 22 locations, writer/director Sebastian Schipper’s latest is a remarkable achievement of form and substance. Beginning in a Berlin nightclub, the camera fixes on a young woman named Victoria, following her as she leaves the club and encounters a group of young men who entice her to continue the party. From there, the plot spirals into unexpected directions as a dangerous criminal becomes involved and the apparently random events slowly coalesce into a powerful tour-de-force battle of wills.
