Malala Yousafzai is the Pakistani girl who was shot by Taliban soldiers when she was 15 for speaking up for girls’ education: and Oscar-winning director Davis Guggenheim ( An Inconvenient Truth) retells her story using animation, archive and new interviews with now 18-year old Malala and her father Ziauddin. Having been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014, Malala now campaigns around the world against injustice and for education and this film is a fitting tribute to her inspirational bravery.
