Adapted by Nick Hornby from Colm Toíbín’s prize-winning novel, Brooklyn sees Saoirse Ronan (Atonement, Hanna ) firmly cementing her leading actress status as a young Irish woman starting an independent life in New York in the 1950s. When family duties call her back to Ireland, she must decide where her heart truly lies. With a support cast including Jim Broadbent, Julie Walters and Domnhall Gleeson, Brooklyn is a superbly acted, sweeping and romantic drama.
