Naomi Kawase is a master of serene, spiritual dramas in which earthly troubles are contrasted with the healing powers of the natural world. Still the Water is set on the tropical Japanese island of Amami where 16-year-old Kyôko (Jun Yoshinaga) is falling in love with the boy next door, Kaito (Nijirô Murakami).
