Pop Up! Scotland has given birth to a film festival! Scotland has a new and distinct film festival celebrating the artistic and political spirit that arose during 2014, as the team launch the first ever UNDEPENDENCE Film Festival.
Inspired by the creative energy that emerged across Scotland last year, the festival team went looking within and beyond Scotland’s borders for stories about change, dependency and identity, and have gathered an entertaining and thought-provoking selection of films from Spain to Palestine, Slovenia to China. Our programming directors culled 150 submissions into 27 films spread among 6 programmes, channelling the energy of the referendum to take a look at what dependence and independence mean: politically, personally, socially.
