This film presents a sensual tapestry of combat games from both sides of the Atlantic, a story driven by a need of Mestre Cobra Mansa’s to understand the ancestry of the art form, Capoeira, as part of a wider concern with his Afro-Brazilian heritage. We journey with him from Brazil to Angola where we meet capoeira masters on both sides of the Atlantic and discover the diverse forms of capoeira that exist today.
This screening will be followed by a Capoeira demonstration and workshop by Scotland-based Capoeira group, Mão No Chão.
