GFT
Gabrielle is a young woman with Williams syndrome who has a contagious joie de vie and an exceptional musical gift. She falls for Martin, a choir member in their recreation centre. However, they must overcome concerned relatives and other people’s prejudices in the hope of experiencing a love far from the ‘ordinary’. Gabrielle Marion-Rivard (who has Williams syndrome in real life) gives a sincere and heartfelt central performance that lies at the centre of this captivating film.
Followed by a post-screening discussion with Lisa Curtice (Programme Director, Alliance Scotland) and Nicholas Watson (Chair of Disability Studies, University of Glasgow), chaired by festival programmer Richard Warden.
Screening as part of Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival.
