UK premieres at Gff14
The Oscar nominated 20 Feet from Stardom, current French box office king Yves Saint Lauren, a fantastic adaptation of Jonas Jonasson’s global bestseller The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared, and a selection of the best new Chilean films in the CineChile strand.
World Premieres
Include: Iboga Nights, the feature film directorial debut of Burnistoun’s Robert Florence and The House of Him.
Scottish Premieres
There will be fifty-seven Scottish premieres, from Starred Up to Half of a Yellow Sun and the eagerly awaited Under the Skin, starring Scarlett Johansson.
Special Guests
Include: John Sessions, fashion icon agnes b., lead singer of Glasgow’s latest world-conquering band CHVRCHES Lauren Mayberry and director of Dark Blood George Sluizer, as well a return for the horror-maestros of FrightFest.
Pop up Cinema
The festival’s biggest ever pop-up cinema event Monster Mash will take place at Kelvingrove on 28 February with a monster-themed party and screening of the classic Gene Wilder comedy Young Frankenstein. Other venues participating in the Festival, apart from Kelvingrove and Glasgow Film Theatre, include the city’s Central Station and a former glue factory set to be transformed into a giant amusement arcade.
There will be a screening of The Steamie at Glasgow Green.
Special Events
Will take place at the new Reid Building, Glasgow School of Art, the Old Fruitmarket, Candleriggs, the old fishmarket at the Briggait, the Chinatown district and Glasgow Green.
