Films include:
Opening Night – Scottish Shorts – Monday 19 October, 2026 8.30 p.m.

Amanda and Caio are a T4T couple who have shared seven years of love and dreams. When they finally decide to move in together, the intimacy of daily life begins to expose their differences. Caio, romantic and idealistic, longs for emotional stability and a future built together while working at a radio station. Amanda, pragmatic and ambitious, is focused on consolidating her newly launched legal career. As routines clash and expectations grow heavier, their relationship starts to fracture. When Amanda meets João at work, unexpected feelings arise, further destabilizing what she and Caio have built. Caught between preserving a shared past and embracing uncertain new paths, Amanda and Caio must confront difficult choices that will redefine who they are individually and together.
Curated by Indigo Korres and Ricky Mastro. Presented in partnership with Mostra Queer Brasil.
This screening will include BSL and Live Captioning. Buy tickets

SQIFF Closing Gala – Hunky Jesus, Saturday 24 October, 2026. 8.30 p.m.

The closing event of the Scottish Queer International Film Festival celebrates another year of exceptional queer cinema. This year’s closing film is Hunky Jesus, a documentary capturing the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence’s iconic take on Easter Sunday. The sisters celebrate Easter with a massive drag competition in which people compete to be the hunkiest Jesus. It documents how community and camp can be powerful tools for resistance and solidarity. Essentially it’s an extremely fun, silly work of queer cinema. It’s a guaranteed mood booster. And, a fantastic way to wrap up another great year of SQIFF.
The film will be followed by a panel discussion with House of Nunsense, Glasgow’s own chapter of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.
The winner of Best Scottish Short will be announced at the start of this event. Please join us in congratulating the winner and all our filmmakers on another year of SQIFF.
Curated by Nat Lall.
This screening will include BSL and Live Captioning. Buy tickets
