Celebrate the paperback launch of The Two Roberts, a beautiful story of creativity, passion, and discrimination based on the real history of two remarkable Scottish artists.

Robert Colquhoun and Robert MacBryde first met in 1933 as bold young students at the Glasgow School of Art, and from then on they never left each other’s side. With the world on the brink of war, their unrivalled talent takes them all over Europe; partying, loving, fighting, painting, meeting icons like Lucian Freud and Francis Bacon. But beyond the glamour and hedonism was a world that couldn’t accept the love of two men in the spotlight. The Two Roberts is a beautiful and heartbreaking reimagining of an often forgotten slice of Scottish history.

Damian Barr, award winning author and broadcaster, will be in conversation with arts writer and journalist Nicola Meighan, discussing the work and lives of Colquhoun and MacBryde, how he shaped real history into a compelling novel, and much more, as well as answering your questions and signing books.
