“WestFest is built on the idea that community culture should be for everyone, and our partnership with Dementia Heroes is a brilliant example of that in practice. What Arvind and the team have created is rooted in real compassion and genuine connection, and Dementia Fest is a bold, creative celebration of that. From D in the Park to the Wee Dementia Film Festival, we’re proud to help platform this work and we’d encourage everyone to get involved this June.”— Brendon McIlroy, WestFest Director
“Dementia Heroes is a small grassroots group with big dreams… to support those impacted by dementia, carers and loved ones. Dementia Fest is a month-long celebration of arts, culture and heritage in the West End of Glasgow. It’s about human compassion and raising awareness of dementia through conversations and social experiences and important events like the wonderful WestFest; and aboutcreating a dementia friendly community through a shared celebration of treasured memories.” — Arvind Salwan, Dementia Heroes Founder
The partnership highlights a shared vision of making Glasgow’s iconic buildings and parks accessible, providing vital social connections through art, gardening, music, and chair yoga.
