Sounds like a great thing going on. Will have to try and make the journey up there for at least the Open Mic's.

I'm writing from the Liquid Ship on Great Western Road. We have recently updated our website with more information about our music nights. Would it be possible to change the link you have for us on this site to the one above. Kind regards Lizzie Law

Press Release John Smith To Perform Scottish Date Classic Grand Glasgow 27th November 2008 Devon-born folk visionary John Smith has announced a forthcoming live performance at Glasgow’s Classic Grand on Thursday 27th November 2008- his only Scottish date on his current tour. Friend of Scotland’s own Travis and folk legend John Renbourn, Smith’s acclaim is rightly on the rise, with growing support from the UK music press. "John Smith continually swoons audiences with his own strain of nu-folk. It is only a matter of time before he is enormous." – NME With a repertoire combining haunting narratives, beguiling melodies and incredible vocals, John Smith has continued to amaze audiences UK-wide since his first sell-out release, 2006’s “The Fox and the Monk”, and is becoming recognised as one of British Folk's most exciting voices. Smith’s repertoire sweeps from tales of false messiahs to soaring love epics, and his diverse style of musical performance is totally unique, prompting both hushed appreciation and riotous standing ovations across the nation. Of playing to Scottish audiences, Smith declares “The Scots have an energy like no other audience. The reaction and attention of a Scottish audience really does wonders for my performance and enthusiasm for live gigging.” John’s passion for song and performance, teamed with wonderful material from his first two self-released albums, ensure that a night in his presence will truly be one to remember.
