By the end of the 1980s I had made  12 solo exhibitions, 2 of them in Germany which was my aim at the start of this decade. I had produced a solo  Interaction exhibition  which got good  coverage in the media. Through my work for the Open Circle group  I had made contact with artists in Germany and France many of whom remain friends to this day. I had been elected a member of the Glasgow Group artists cooperative and found them a gallery space. Things were looking a lot better for Glasgow artists than they did a the beginning of the 1980s. The feelings of isolation and despair were replaced by hope since the city of Glasgow seemed to be backing the arts..
