Very worrying watching more harsh treatment of protestors by Spanish police.

A Europe Arrest has been issued in Germany for Carlos Puigdemont and in Scotland  a similar warrant for extradition has been issued regarding Carla Ponsati, described by the Spanish as 'fugitive separatist'.  The Professor at St Andrews University was previously education minister in Catalonia.

The Scottish Government do not have powers regarding extradition, which is a reserved matter.  Today Theresa May was questioned by Ian Blackford at Westminster and she indicated that she would uphold Spanish Law – whatever that is? These people are democratically elected politicians not criminals.

Aamer Anwer, Humn Rights Lawyer, will fight the case of Carla Ponsati.

'

“It is well established that the Scottish Government supports the right of the people of Catalonia to determine their own future and that we strongly oppose the Spanish Government’s decision to seek the arrest and imprisonment of independence supporting politicians.

“The fact that our justice system is legally obliged to follow due process in the determination of extradition requests does not change those views.'  First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon.

The silence from the UK Government has been shameful.

It truly is. Apparently call for UN investigation.  I watched The Papers last night and no Sunday paper had Gaza atrocity as headline. Wasn't even mentioned. Still focusing on anti-semitism campaign against Corbyn. Seems to have taken wings right after this horrific event in Gaza.

I guess that's the plan.  At least he spoke out on the recent atrocities in Gaza. Silence from May.
