Veronica 0
I fancied the Gala but it was sold out and still perusing the brochure. I like the question and answer so checking out who's all hitting the town.
Pat 0
I would have loved to be at the Gala too, CL. However, I did get to see the Gala film Handsome Devil at the press event – only half a dozen folk in the cinema. I wrote a review. Loved the film. http://www.glasgowwestend.co.uk/handsome-devil-gala-film-glasgow-film-festival-2017-review-pat-byrne/ Are you planning on going to anything else? Pat 0
Went to see Berlin Syndrome, more great acting at GFF. Very powerful film – don't watch alone. I am traumatised. Couple of wee plots hitches and stretched out a bit in the middle but a lot going for it. Hugely tense, great locations and get to see a bit of Berlin.
Pat 0
Saw Pawno today. An alternative view of Melbourne with plenty of street life and daily dealings at the local pawn shop. Some romance, some violence, tension, humour and pathos. I love a film with interesting characters and plenty of emotion. This fitted the bill. I had a wee chat with the lead, John Brumpton, and the director, Paul Ireland. They're a couple of characters too.
Pat 0
Went today to see Elle with Isabelle Huppert. She's a fabulous actor – very dark film and definitely merits its over 18 certificate.
rory 0
I am going to the closing Gala film Mad to be Normal with David Tennant.
Pat 0
Hope you enjoyed the gala, rory. I saw the red carpet out when we left the cinema after Celtic Soul. Another very enjoyable film. I was lucky enough to catch a coffee with Lauren Howes and Bart Simpson Canadian filmmakers. http://www.glasgowwestend.co.uk/glasgow-film-festival-canadian-film-makers-lauren-howes-bart-simpson/
