  5. I grew up in Lansdown Church - on the Kelvin Bridge (1968-1982). The Jimmy Boyle story - 'A Sense of Freedom' was filmed along Woodlands Road, Napiershall Street and maryhill road in 1978. Our Minister, a yank called Bill Christman got into a bit of bother for appearing as an extra in the film of the notorious gangster This was when they were pulling all the tenaments down around the napiershall street school area. I can always remember the sight of the 'wee blue cars' outside the garage across the road, and the smell from the coopers factory next door.
