Viva Melodia presents THE NATIONAL JAZZ TRIO OF SCOTLAND

Formed in 2007 and fronted by the enigmatic genius that is Bill Wells, a Scottish bassist, pianist, guitarist and composer, this will be a gig to remember. Bill effortlessly cruises the boundaries of all genres of music, specialising in the experimental. There is an element of irony in the title of his band. He is friends to and musical collaborators with the Scottish indie firmament, including Isobel Campbell, Future Pilot AKA and The Pastels. There will be 2 sets with an interval. A very special gig. With DJs till 01am.

FRIDAY 20TH 7.30pm £5 on door
TIGERS ON VASELINE

Tigers on Vaseline are hailed as a Scottish phenomenon, and as quoted by Billy Sloan, Music Columnist of the Daily Record, "the most authentic David Bowie Tribute in the UK".

The band has rocketed from a humble 4 piece, strictly acoustic affair to a near full-blown reincarnation of Bowie at his 1972-73 zenith, and has worked hard to establish themselves as one of the UK's leading tribute acts. There is no closer a vocal than John O'Brien's crisp cockney cackle that could so easily be lifted from Honky Dory, Ziggy Stardust or Aladdin Sane.

Checkout the band's myspace on myspace.com/tigersonvaseline where you can view a video of The Jean Genie, and an array of pictures, audio recordings and other interesting curios.

The band will make a welcome return to Brel on 20th June as part of the West End festival to play an acoustic set that will include most of the usual favourites plus a few surprises.

Gentle acoustic songs which you can hear on www.myspace.com/paulmarshallyeah.
