Album of the Week: The Piper in the Holler - Tim Cummings

The Celtic Music Radio Album of the Week for week commencing Saturday 29 September is the new CD from Tim Cummings called The Piper in the Holler ? Tunes from Appalachia.

Timothy Cummings? first solo album is devoted almost exclusively to traditional melodies from Appalachia. This album spotlights tunes and hymns from the Southeastern U.S. including many of the melodies published in An Appalachian Collection. Tim performs these on Scottish smallpipes, Border pipes, Highland pipes, and whistles, and enjoys backing by Pete Sutherland, Caleb Elder, and other special guests.

Stewart Fenwick presents the very best in Country music from here in Scotland and from around the world and this week Stewart talks with Teea Goans (pictured) a new name on the Nashville scene who is very much in the Grand Ole Opry tradition.

The Missouri native is marking her 10th anniversary in Music City, with the release of her second album "Thats Just Me". Stewart talks to Teea during the second hour of his programme on Sunday lunchtime. [email protected]

Bill Morris on his 'Morris' Mash' programme on Monday night has a mix of singer-songwriter and Americana tracks and this week, Bill will preview the Glasgow Americana 2012 music festival with promoter Kevin Morris Bill will attending many of the concerts and events for recordings for future transmission on Celtic Music Radio.

AJ Roach is in town for the Glasgow Americana festival and will chat with Bill Morris and Kate Reid on Thursday's Homeward Bound programme from around 3.30pm. AJ Roach is an American singer-songwriter originally from Virginia, but now based in Brooklyn, NY.
