Growing Together. Plotting the Future.

An open meeting to review our first year of growing and discuss our growing plans for 2012. Everyone Welcome - even if not previously involved in the garden. If you are interested in applying for a raised bed or assisting with our communal growing, but cannot make it to the meeting - please get in touch and we will send you out more details about how you can apply for a growing space in 2012.

Fuel Efficient Driving Lessons (50% discount for early bookers!)

Bookings are now being taken for our Fuel-efficient driving lessons. Save up to 15% on your petrol bills, by coming on our training and improving your driving technique. Each lesson lasts for 50 minutes and is carried out by an approved driving instructor, accredited by the Energy Saving Trust. The normal cost of these lessons is £40, and thanks to Energy Savings Trust we've brought the costs down still further to £12. On top of this Woodlands Garden are offering to pay half of this fee for people who book before November 16th. Meaning that your lesson would just cost just £6.

Time slots are available from between 9.00 am and 3.20pm. Pick up and drop off from Albany Centre, GCVS - just round the corner from our community garden. Full driving license is required. To book a place please email [email protected] with your name, address,telephone number and preferred lesson time. If you need any more information please get in touch. If you can't make it on 30 November, but would be interested in attending on another date - please let us know and we will put you on our waiting list for repeat sessions.

Meat Free Mondays : Vegetarian Cookery Classes

The first four weeks of our course are now about full - but we are still taking bookings for Weeks 5 (5th December) and Week 6 (12th December). If you missed out on the earlier weeks, then its still worth sending in a booking form so that we can put you on our reserve list in case,as usually happens, some people drop out. Full details attached. We also hope to run some similar courses again in the New Year.

Monday Grow Sessions

Meeting Monday evenings 6-8pm in Beanscene on Woodlands Road to mulch over ideas for spreading the garden revolution across the West End, in particular planning garden share schemes and back-court growing packs.
