Glasgow Musians Biographies: DINNY

Photo: dinny. Singer and multi-instrumentalist from Glasgow, Dinny has performed throughout Scotland in a variety of bands, playing anything from bass guitar and drums to electric violin, covering a wide spectrum of musical genres.

Deciding it was time to try writing and singing her own songs, she gave her debut solo performance in September of 2007, supporting Glasgow singer/songwriter Horse at The Renfrew Ferry.

Dinny plays regularly at various venues in and around Glasgow and has performed on The Danny Kyle Open Stage at Celtic Connections, as well as making a few guest appearances on Celtic Music Radio which broadcasts worldwide via the internet.

Whilst her vocal style has been compared with the likes of Carole King, Janis Ian, Annie Lennox and Patti Smith, her music ranges from soulful acoustic torch songs, to an eclectic fusion of Middle-Eastern influenced electronica.
