The Green Goddess

Photo: heather suttie. Blond, relatively fit and probably owns a vintage 80's style green catsuit, the modern day Green Goddess is Heather Suttie. Broadcaster and eco campaigner Heather has been promoting the reduce, reuse, recycle message with her campaign at www.saynotoplastic.co.uk, which was set up as a non profit movement in 2007 to encourage Scots to say no to a plastic bag. She also hosts hugely popular vintage and craft sales in Oran Mor.

Stars and their cars

Celebrities have been driving hybrids for years, and now that some of the luxury brands are going electric, BMW's chic new i8 plug-in hybrid has been given a new role, that of a movie star.

The electric hybrid will make its big screen debut as Tom Cruise's car in the new Mission Impossible film installment The Ghost Protocol. For agent Ethan Hunt (played by Mr Cruise), this is a car you'd definitely want on your side.

The BMW i8 promises to go from 0-60 mph in five seconds, is powered by a 328-horsepower diesel-electric drivetrain, has a top speed of 155 mph, and fuel efficiency of 62.5 miles per gallon. What I'm trying to say is that this is the perfect getaway car!!

Apart from being a great actor, Tom is nothing if not passionate and it's great to see that this latest movie of the Mission Impossible franchise will be promoting and showcasing an eco-friendly one.

This type of car ain't cheap and after giving up my relatively eco friendly Mini Cooper last year I've gotten to grips with public transport in and around the Glasgow area and as the weather will hopefully become more dry and sunny I may even invest in a bike!

www.gearbikes.com is a great shop for bikes, the staff are super friendly and very knowledgable. As for Rob in the shop on Gibson Street, G12 and have a swatch at what super bikes are available online.
