The Glasgow Mela is a lively event celebrating the music and dance of the South Asian Sub-Continent. It's the largest multicultural festival in Scotland - held in Kelvingrove Park it creates a colourful specatacle and attracts large crowds from the whole community. The atmosphere is just great and it demonstrates the diversity of the city and Glasgow's love of music and dance.

Children can enjoy puppet shows, bouncy castles, magicians and arts and crafts and grown ups can enjoy the food, entertainment and also pick up some bargains at the trade stands, which present a vast array of clothes, shoes, jewellery and colourful rugs. Or you can relax and simply lap up the atmosphere.

The Mela is now in its seventh year and the programme includes - bhangra music, dance, delicious food and children's activities.

A great day out for everybody.

The Mela is organised and co-ordinated by the Scottish Academy of Asian Arts.
