Jim's Glasgow West End Photography Diary January 2008

Here are some of the photographs I have taken while out and about in the West End of Glasgow - I hope you find them interesting. Click on the images to view larger versions. You are free to download and use for non-commercial purposes any of my photographs as long as you put a link to this site and give me credit for the photograph (Jim Byrne)

Some months the images are a mixture of photographs of the West End, photographs of Glasgow and photographs of Scotland.

Photo: Glasgow West End Festival party 2008.

Pat and I went along to the West End Festival 2008 New Year Party in Oran Mor. A wee get together for the organisers and participants of the festival.

I think I spot Dave Anderson and some of the local glitterati in the above scene. The photo is supposed to be like that - a wee bit blurry. In case you are thinking that there's something wrong with it; that's me trying to be artistic.

Photo: One night only poster and light.

Photo: Bus on Great Western Road - going through puddle.

It's been very wet lately - and cold. I like a bit of flooding on Great Western road - it's traditional.

Photo: Wet Weather in the West End of Glasgow.

Highburgh road.

Photo: Wet road markings.

Some wet road art - for your pleasure.

Photo: Raining in Glasgow - no loading.

Hedge and no loading sign as soon through my car window. Highburgh road has got it all: roads, hedges, signs, bus shelters - why take photos anywhere else.

Photo: Sunday morning coffee in Tinderbox.

It never rains in Tenderbox. Coffee and Danish pastry - just about to be consumed - while I read the Sunday papers.
