I'm really surprised to hear you opt for 'crown', harper. Is it no a bit royal?

What if they won't let us use the pound? What could we call the Scottish equivalent?

Here's a few from the history of Scottish numismatology:  Lion, Crown, Ducat, Mark, Noble, Testoun, Plack, Alex, Punnd, Nota.

(Okay, the Alex was my idea.)

 Ducat's too like Doo Hut. Testoun's too manly. Sandy?

Jim loves the week-end papers.  Mainly the mags.  I sometimes sift through them.  I read the Financial Times when we were on holiday and cut out two articles.  One about Spain's economy.  I've forgotten what the other one was.

I'd pick up somebody else's Sunday Post and even the Sunday Mail but wouldn't touch a Sun and never came within a foot of NOW. I read the Metro on the bus and have been known to pick up an Evening Times if something on the front captures my attention.

The gloves are off again. Alex Salmond's view is that:  "sterling and the Bank of England as assets to be shared between the UK and a go-it-alone Scotland."

"He said an independent Scotland would not take on a portion of the UK's trillion-pound national debt unless Westminster agreed to a currency union – a move Chancellor George Osborne has described as "unlikely"."

I'm no economist but ditching the debt and a nice note with Rabbie on it sounds like quite an attractive option.

Good for honing the scathing skills but at the end of the day there are a lot of folk enjoying themselves.  I'm trying not to think of the good they could do with the money splashed out on the sets.  Not to mention the costumes.
