This is a great night at St Louis and last night was no exception. It's decidedly unstuffy for a literary event. Not a lot of overly serious faces and a tone of joie de vivre set by the host Linda Jackson. There's a great mix of short pieces and poems from new writers and you also get to hear the work of some who more experienced. Jimbo (Jim Byrne), played an excellent short set during the musical interlude (not just my opinion :) ) and Lesley Riddoch – what can you say? She is a sheer pleasure in this Independence debate with well thought through and thoroughly substantiated opinions.

Lesley read from her book Blossom - What NeedsTo Flourish – and it was fascinating, insightful and humourous.

She's on tour with the book and well worth catching:
