I love porridge but can't be bother faffin' about with pans in the mornng. I used a well known brand of sachets with milk... in the microwave for 2 minutes and a swirl of brown suger.
The wee sachets are handy but I really like Quakers Large Flake Oats. I prefer it made with water and salt added.
Sometimes I have one of the sachets made with milk and add manuka honey, greek yoghurt and some mixed nuts. That's lovely.
Either way it's a great breakfast.

I'm a meal, salt and water type of gal and I ain't changing for nobody. Posh porridge, I never heard any the likes. I agree with Harper that recipe you've got sounds boufin right enough, Lynnski, and Pat's isn't much better.
Don't knock it till you try it, CL.
Oats are versatile wee souls.

I met have a spot of kiwi on it but then there's a temptation to add cream.I guess none of you like muesli then?
Fruit at breakfast time is GOOD! Helps keep you fuller longer so you're less likely to snack.
Anyway today is definitely a porridge day and I've still to have breakfast. I know it's nearly noon but I went back to bed with a coffee and my back (text book) - well a novel actually. Makes since this studying Creative Writing.

I've got some in the wee packets that you add water to, or milk, and microwave. Now why do I feel like a real cook and think you're just lazy, tig.
The pot things have never appealed to me. I've never tasted a pot noodle.
