I have noted this for a while, my adult daughter n several friends have also remarked on it. We see young men wearing jogging bottoms openly walking around with their hands busy inside the front of their trousers. I was standing next to one such today at the bank q. I was squirming and could see others in the q felt the same. How come he did not know that his behaviour was inappropriate?

Is it that gangsta thing that Billy Conelly talked about, Hingmie?
Maybe they are checkin' to see if they are still there.

I missed the gangsta thing by Sir Billy. Although I have read that the droopy drawers thing is related to prisoners in USA "showing their wares".Is it that gangsta thing that Billy Conelly talked about, Hingmie?

I think its the scourge of metrosexuality.
[Said in a David Attenborough voice] - The Metrosexual Male, coiffeured and confused, checks regularly to ensure its gender has not changed.

I would think they are excruciatingly lonely, that perhaps they had been in a warm, loving relationship which has ended. And as Sam noted, they are "checking" and the "wee man" is their lifeline to something which was wonderful.
