Caught this last night and LOVED it. Told largely through interviews with various Waliers, family, managers and production staff, it presents a protrayal of the musician as a politically aware, spiritual, man of peace. Such a short life but so much influence, on every level.

Looking forward to going to see the film, harper. Sounds great and I would imagine the soundtrack to be pretty wonderful.Marley, directed by Kevin McDonald.

you went to see Battleship a film based on a board game and from the mob that brought you Transformrs based on a toy. One would think your critical faculties had not developed beyond the nursery. Was there a smug scot in it?
You may enjoy this.

Cannes 2012 Jury Prize winner: The Angels' Share
GFT Rose Street
Friday 1 - Thursday 14 June
The Angels' Share follows new father Robbie (played with effortless charm by newcomer Paul Brannigan) who vows to change his ex-offender ways and go straight for the sake of his newborn son Luke. While serving a community service order, he meets Rhino, Albert and Mo who, like him, find it impossible to find work because of their criminal records. But the fates of our four down-and-out heroes are changed forever with the decision to turn to drink... Palme d'Or-winning British director Ken Loach reunites with screenwriter Paul Laverty for a bitter-sweet Glasgow comedy-drama fresh from its Jury Prize win at Cannes.

The Angels' Share was brilliant. Saw it today at the GFT. It's the best film I've seen in ages. I think we'll be hearing a lot more of Paul Brannigan. No sub-titles in this toon.

What a brilliant movie and no subtitles in Landan, either.... must have kept them for the film festival for the likes of Brangelina et al.
For a non actor in his first movie, Brannigan was superb and all the more poignant given his own troubled past. I hope he goes on to great things.

He was super and very attractive. We've been brainwashed into thinking that tall is wonderful.

just watched "Ted", about a guy who when he was a boy wished for his teddy to come to life and it does..very family guy type humour..well seth mcfarlane did write it and all in all it was very amusing...loads of swearing so not for kids but some of the one liners the bear said had me in stitches
It sounds ridiculous, tig, but then we thoroughly enjoyed watching Burn After Reading again the other night and it's ridiculous but some very funny black humour from the Coen brothers. Some fantastic acting from Clooney, Malkovitch, Frances McDormand and Brad Pitt. Tilda Swinton is also in the film and plays a cold posh bitch. She's believable but I always think there's something a bit wooden about her.
