Do you think they heard about the Glasgow Zombie Walk and that synched the deal? I hear there are 1000 extras. It is very good for Glasgow and maybe we will attract more big stars and more film making. It must be good for our economy.

The extras are having great fun running like blazes through George Square. Some well kent faces among them - including Bobby Petta, who used to play for Celtic.

They're also shooting scenes over in Cardonald in a Supermarket. We're not going to notice if any real zombies hit town.

What a great time I had at the GFT with my friend Katrina. We went along to see Sue Bourne's film about the Irish World Dance Championships in Glasgow. It was just fantastic. Not least of all because the audience contained lots of enthusiastic Irish Dancers and their followers. Quite odd really as the audience in the cinema is usually so artsy. However, their ultra-glam style reflected some of the more surreal elements of the film.

However, it was pretty compelling viewing - full of amazing characters, lots of fantastic, and fanatical, dancers and teachers. Rich parents crossing the world and poor parents struggling to support their kids in their quest to win the title. Some of the weans fairly pulled at your heartstrings. I laughed my head off and shed quite a few tears. What an emotional roller coaster and Glasgow looked fantastic.

If you get a chance go along. Well, if you feel you can open yourself up to that sort of thing.

I knew I had posted before about JIG but I didn't mention the name the last time.

Anyway on BBC2 tonight at 9 p.m. If you get a chance try to see it. Very enjoyable. :)

No sooner has Brad Pitt and the zombies left the streets of Glasgow and we are preparing to welcome Tom Hanks and Halle Berry in 'Cloud Atlas'.

We're going to be San Francisco this time.

Does this mean they'll be shooting in Gardner Street in Partick?

OMG, that was well weird. Pushy mothers, over the top wigs and make up but granted, some very nifty dancing... I just kept thinking about John Cleese every time the boys came on...

 I watched it again and enjoyed it every bit as much second time round, harper. Some of the kids were adorable - the wee girl from Northern Ireland (what were her teachers like?) and that gorgeous wee boy. His teacher was fantastic.

Good heavens! It's becoming like Scollywood - apparently we've now also to expect Susan Sarandon and Scarlett Johansson.

Hope the rain stays off as Cloud Atlas filming should commence in Glasgow pretty soon. Looks like Hugh Grant will also be hitting town.

Some cast in this film with Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Ben Whishaw, Jim Sturgess and Susan Sarandon - and Hugh. Apparently Tom won't be in town but some of the stars should be on location in Blythswood Square. :)

I am not going to be too downhearted if Tom does not arrive in town but Susan and Halle will certainly bring some glamour to our town.

This new trend of making movies in Glasgow holds lots of appeal. Roll on the Film Festival.

We were having a wander around York last night with a plan to walk along the riverside and then dine someplace nice. However, the heavens opened just as we were passing the picture hall, which is down by the river - we were just in time for Jane Eyre starting. Very dramatic and atmospheric, a well made movie directed by Cary Fukunaga and starring Mia Wasikowska, Michael Fassbender - both extremely good.

I have had a bit of a movie fest this weekend.

Trust, with the gorgeous Clive Owen playing the father of a 14 yar old daughter groomed on the internet. Great movie. 9/10

Leaving: Another great movie with the lovely Christian Scott Thomas and the tragic consequences of amour fou. 8/10

One Day: I never read the book so i didn't have any expectations of this film. Bit soppy but not a bad way to send a Sunday afternoon at the pictures. The scenes shot in Edinburgh were the real winners but I am totally biased. Ken Stott with a side parting was a bit startling, mind you. 7/10

I saw some clips for Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy with Gary Oldman and that is definately on my list.

I didn't fancy Jane Eyre. I like my period dramas at home, sitting in front of the fire with a big mug of tea and fruit cake, thvm.

I really fancy Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy even more after seeing the trailer. One Day sounds pretty enticing as well despite that 'side parting'

I like Ken Stott but have never been keen on Kristin Scott Thomas.

There are some classy films on at the moment. I think I'll go along and see Jane Eyre, even although I will be anticipating every line. I loved that book as a girl. I might take a flask and a bun in a bag with me, harper.

You do that Canny Lass ....

I've just been to see Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and it is stonkingly good..... bit confusing but beautifully photographed and full of real looking people.

Folks seem to be raving about Gary Oldman but I thought Colin Firth was geat. Great to see kathy Burke back on screen after so many years working as a director... good stuff. :) 9/10.

I would give it 9 out of ten too Harper. I hope to see the new Helen Mirren movie 'The Debt'. She looks amazing and it is getting good hype.

Helen Mirren just gets better with age. What a fantastic role model for the over 50s.

Saw the trailer for the Debt and it will definately be on my list. Cheesy as hell but so will the new Twilight sequel ...

I've heard from a couple of people that The Debt is disappointing.

FilmMaking is reaching new giddy heights in Scotland with the wonderful Daniel Craig aka James Bond coming to do some work early 2012. Not to Glasgow unfortunately but to Duntrune Castle in Lochgilphead. That's where the final scenes of the latest Bond movie, rumoured to be called Skyfall, will be shot.

Do you reckon that Daniel is the best Bond - or are you a Sean fan?
