Come on Scotland, rekindle the fire.
'...for, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom – for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.'
A little bit of this spirit would not go amiss - actually, a little bit of Old Pulteney spirit wouldn't go amiss either.

I know many of you do not follow this wonderful game, but tonight, Scotland take on the Czech Republic in a very crucial qualifying game for the Euro Championships. It was against this very same team (ok it was Czechoslovakia then) that the fire was lit in my breast for the Scottish national team when as a youngster I sat with the family and watched on TV and listened to the glorious sound of Arthur 'stramash' Montford commentating on a glorious Scotland victory, 3-1 at hampden park. It was quite wonderful and I was hooked from that day.

Hope the Scottish team do well, samsc. Do you think it could be equally as wonderful as when you were a boy?
Shame about the Tartan Army fans that ran into problems at Schipol. Didn't look to be too much evidence of drunken revelry.
