Forum Rules

Recommended Posts

Forum rules:

1. You should be polite, courteous and engage with goodwill.

2. You should not verbally abuse or personally attack other members, including forum moderators. You should not post inflammatory messages or go off topic on a thread just to be disruptive.

(This is a discussion forum and, of course, members will fight their corner (so to speak); and that's fine and to be expected. However personal or vitriolic attacks are not considered 'discussion' and have no place on this forum.

There is a level of banter and 'joshing' that is perfectly acceptable and is a natural part of any discussion forum. However, when threads start to include name calling and inflammatory messages, designed to disrupt the discussion or to upset participants, then you are heading down the wrong road and it's time for some 'sitting on hands' and reflection.)

3. You should not 'out' people as real individuals in the off-line world. This will lead to an immediate suspension of your membership.

4. You should not start topics or submit posts relating to religion or sectarianism.

(Topics concerning religion and sectarianism have proved to be detrimental to this forum and also to the general membership of this forum, therefore, such topics will no longer be welcome. Any member wishing to discuss these subjects will find many other forums where they can air their views on these topics. This is a discussion board, not a platform for personal crusades. Any topics started on such subjects will be deleted. Any posts considered to to be inflammatory with regard to these subjects posted in general threads will be deleted.)

5. You should not highlight or correct any typos, grammatical errors or spelling mistakes. This is tedious and not a legitimate subject for posts to the forum. Neither should you alter the words of other posters when you quote.

6. You should use the search function before you start a new topic in case someone has already started a thread on a similar subject.

7. Swearing is not allowed on the forum

8. You should not post adverts on the forum, that includes advertising of websites and providing links to those websites.

9.You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit. You should not reinstate posts that have been edited or deleted by a Mod.

You won't go far wrong if you think of the forum as a friendly pub or cafe, where conversation is free and easy but where violent stushies are definitely out of order. Troublemakers are routinely shown the door. Recidivists are banned.

Legalese

1. You should not post messages that are unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented or racially offensive. Doing so will lead to suspension of your membership.

2. You should not post content, including images, which you've copied from someone else and for which you don't own the copyright or have permission to post.
