Up since afore seven and done nothing of note. Lovely and cool, earlier, looks to be heating up. Chuffed to have heard from someone.

And as for the olympics....wasn't fussy aboot the opening....Andy was a total surprise; always thought he would eventually beat Djokovic but Federer was in superb form, best I have ever seen him play...rowing venue was/is world class....three favourite athletes; Phelps....the Russian woman who won the 800 metres run...the brit who won the bronze for diving....demeanor, attitude, call it what you want, they were extremely gracious and joyful at what they had accomplished.

gonnae ask a favour frae Pat.

I loved Tom Daley's attitude too, tamd. Tremendous achievement. Phelps is a helluva likeable character as well.

Here's that favour (you need to explain all about your friends):tams_friends-9018.jpg

They were here a couple of days ago, had a few treats and the lady took the big guy for a walk; he can be a real farting machine. All aromas gone and the lady had a passion fruit filled flakie pastry with pralines and cream ice cream, me annaw. And their names are Remington and Riley....am needing tae look up the spelling for Riley.

And still trying to get a washing done....mibee later.

and I wull return this evening.

tam

and am no wanting another dug...no near macho enough for when they......

I have a date. I will meet my date for the first time, today. She will be the second lady I have dated in the past year and eight months. My first date is unforgettable...and that is a song sung by Nat King Cole. I did not get around to cleaning this place up. Was thinking of doing steak from Farons but now leaning towards dinner at the "Tasty Kitchen".

Barring a miracle I will post something later today.

No post - so waiting to hear about the miracle now.

Hope it all went to plan, tam. The steak sounds good - steer clear of the tea reheats. :)

No miracle but not a bad day. A visit to the casino and spent a few bucks. Had a huge lunch of "panzarotti", neither of us finished but they package the leftovers for you...one package is going to be my dinner.

And the lady was with her relatives at a very respectable hour and I drove home thinking, "this too shall pass"...taking its bloody time, soitis.

Bridge this aft; duplicate and sure that my partner and I were top three last week, might have each won a buck.

Hot today, cloudless sky so probably another scorcher.

A meeting tonight and thinking of volunteering to work the farmers market tomorrow...four hours of not doing much but mibee meet the woman of my dreams....might no happen only once ye ken.

Tam, the farmers' market sounds like a plan. Go for it but remember you're there to sell not to discuss cultivation methods.

It's 30 degrees in sweltering Oakville - about half that here.

10.15 PM and am hame, a Saturday night and am by mahself, surely this aloneness wullnae last; and already telt mair than once thit if am no we somebody it's because I dinnae want tae be...that is definitely nonsense.

Am no needed for "Farmers Market" but I will visit. A chat we the ladies frae the horticultural society is always guid. Thais women and a couple of men dae a marvellous job for this wee toon; hanging baskets on all the street lights, window baskets oan the wee bridge, huge flower pots whaurever ye look and they dae it as a labour of love....some donations and they cultivate enough flowers thit they can sell some.

Seems tae me the legion bar-b-que is jist aroond the corner...steak (nae idea what kind) all the trimmins, for $10.00.

And speaking of the horticultuists:- Dorothy Parker (American woman who worked for the New Yorker) was on a radio show, part of a panel. Members of the panel were given a word and the object was to fit the word into a sentence...Dorothy's word was horticulture and she said, "you can lead a whore to culture but you can't make her think".....

It is a bit cooler and might be ok for sleeping. Mind whaur am living is a very nice we enclave, a few lights but if I step oot my door in the middle of the night, stand under the eave and look up, the sky is dressed in thousands of diamonds....surely this world isnae jist part of an accident.

And a couple of ladies thit ustae post here am wishing wid come back....one was the lady thit picked me up at the bus terminal, one time; cannae think whit name she used but her colouring was a treat tae see, reddish hair, bonnie cheeks and and lovely eyes. The ither yain am thinkin of I never did meet. A very guid poster and went by the nom de plume (a hope that is ok) of hamsterbert mibee burt.

But still a lot of guid ones left.

Pat you are daein yeoman service.

tam

that is my ramblin for the day.....wis gonnae pit "diatribe" but it isnae really, issit.

Harper, you oan holidays ?

Am reading it tae. Am thinking that the man didnae write in English. I tried a translation of something by Balzac and jist couldnae see the brilliance I was led tae believe I would. Talked tae a uni prof, Phil London, a New Yorker, brilliant man with a PHD in English thit had nae Latin, and he said, "Balzac should be read as he wrote it". Phil was fluently bi-lingual, French/English.

Probably jist my arrogance but am running intae parts where am saying, "surely Garcia widnae have used this or that word"....mind am no going tae stop the reading....

At the beach and a very guid day.

tam

Ay, Hingmie it is, I liked her....Mind I like Jo annaw but thon HH mair than likely has her locked up.

Och that Pat, a right stickler for "a place for everything and everything in place"....and I wull heed your admonishun. Waiting for the dugs and wondering what I need, bags for poo is top of my list, and need tae get some chicken, thais beasties are no going tae jist eat dried food; dugs are carnivores.......gonnae be a tiring two weeks.

And I noticed the lovely lady has posted, certainly brightened my day.

tam

I was reading, oh God, wrong thread....am gonnae dae twenty-five "Hi Marys"...is thon followed by "full of grace" ?

And am invited to a house on the lake....seven ladies of a certain age, and I, will have an afternoon of bridge in the very near future.

Oany lassies heading my way should have at least a nodding acquaintance with a vacuum cleaner.

Take it easy, tam, and try the wheatgrass. You can get it in a couple of our coffee shops in the West End. Something else that I've been hearing a lot of good reports about is DoMatcha - ancient Japanese Green Tea. Maybe I should put that up in our science thread.

Further to something I mentioned some months back - I'm now a proud grandad of a wonderful grand daughter who arrived less than 48 hours ago. And her name is Maisie!!

Over the moon!

I had just sent you a wee pm, Gladtae, but missed this wonderful news. Delightful. Many congratulations and happy days ahead. :)
