The Auld Dug Died:
Must have been aroond four in the morning. I was sitting at the computer and I heard her; she sometimes falls a lot because the rug has been lifted. Oanyway i went tae see her, thought she might want tae go oot. She had fallen and I straightened her up but she fell again. She was layin we her heid partially under the lazy boy chair and then the legs started to move as if she was running. She whimpered a wee bit and the chest was heaving.
Am quite sure it was heart worm but i went and woke herslf up and said it was a heart attack. She gets up and is going oan aboot "she should have been put doon days ago but YOU cancelled the credit card". Angry i was, wanted tae belt thon mindless bastirt.
Oanyway herself wrapped the auld dug in a towel and held her till the end. It's what the auld dug wid have wanted.
There were nae tears, no then anyway.

That's very sad news, tam, will be a terrible miss for you after all these years of companionship.
We'll all be thinking about you.

Aww Tam. I'm really sorry. I shed a wee tear after reading your post.

So sorry to hear about your dog Tam. They are so much a part of the family, aren't they? Big hugs to you.

Cuthbert was put to sleep this morning, he had a malignant, aggressive tumour on his upper jaw which was untreatable. He was 14.

Awe, lynnski, that's a real shame but you couldn't have him suffer. I'm sure he had a wonderful life with you.

Thanks Pat. I took it on Tuesday, just before she started deteriorating. Poor lass, she was full of life, just until 3 days ago. The change was rapid. We've gone from a 3 cat house to a single cat house in just over a year, it's going to take a lot of getting used to. At least she's not in pain now.
