I've just had this board recommended to me by a good pal in Glasgow
I moved from the north of Glasgow to Knightswood in 1963 and stayed there until I got married to my lovely husband (from Maryhill then Drumchapel) in 1969.
We have lived down south in Surrey since 1971 and have a son, 2 daughters, 2 grandsons plus 2 granddaughters
I retired early and, encouraged by my husband, fullfilled my ambition to write a book, since then I have had a couple published with more in the pipeline
Looking forward to finding my way round here

There are lots of good threads to catch up on and oddles of articles on local facilities, characters etc etc on the main website. When you have caught your breath it would be good to hear about your book.

Woof woof everyone, I'm very pleased to be on here, as I'm a truly West End kinda mutt. (Although if truth be told I'm originally from Ayrshire, and other universes). But I've been in the West End for over twenty years (and several hundred centuries - but that's another story - and speaking of stories, I have more than one tail, and My Big Folk have managed to pen my first tale). I'm off to Waterstones for a personal appearance where I'll have to give a great big swish of my tail (as I gather they're quite posh in that Sauchiehall Street)on Saturday at 12 noon. My Big Folk are reading some of my story, and I'll be gadding about, showing off as usual. Right hello to you all, I'm off to send some p-mails....and then I'm taking a trip in this bluster in my Wim Wim for the Wowser to wind the weather up on a wet day...night night.
Good luck at Waterstone's. I'll be in York or would have come along with some of our weans. Hope to catch you another time.

Just joined. Looking for Paton family from 96 George st. Whiteinch, Partick, County of Lanark, Glasgow Scotland. I'm in Ontario, Canada and we have no family info. Thanks
Hi Paton Family, your address is a wee bit confusing. George Street is in Glasgow City Centre (G1 postcode), Whiteinch and Partick are two separate areas of Glasgow. They are adjacent to each other, Whiteinch has a G14 postcode and Partick a G11 postcode.
What do you have that connects your family to any of those addresses?
