Pat's Guide to Glasgow West End

Recommended Posts

Saw an episode of 'The People's History Show' recently. On catch-up so wasn't breaking the law! They gave an email for suggestions the show ccould investigate. As I've recently been researching the local history of Dumbarton and its environs I thought I'd send of  a couple of subjects and get my 15 minutes of fame! I'm really not that sad but will let you know if anything transpires...

Haven't seen the programme, Mary, but it's always struck me that the ancient capital of Strathclyde doesn't get the attention it deserves. Should be a major tourist attraction - particularly the castle.  Good for you helping to put it on the map.

I don't know how many people that I've spoken to over the years have visited Dumbarton Castle and been the only people there. Now wouldn't it be great if there was a Tourism Bus full of tourists then they could open a shop and a tea room.
