One of the major festivals in the Scottish calendar, and Glasgow's most eagerly anticipated community event, this year's West End Festival is set to be the event for the summer with the biggest and best programme yet.

Running from Friday 12th June to Sunday 28th June, the West End Festival is set to attract a record number of visitors with over 200,000 revelers expected to take part in the festivities over the course of the two week event.

A brilliant new event for 2009:Folk, Blues and Beyond - acoustic music festival with the cream of local talent performing at six of the west end's most popular venues.

The all-new acoustic fringe fesival will celebrate acoustic music from our most talented local musicians at some of the West End's most popular acoustic music venues.

Mmarking the end of the west-end festival but the beginning of our Summer.

We've a sensational line-up for this special event with live music ranging from jazz aficionados Corner Pocket Groove to must-see bluegrass group New Redwing. We've also got Canary Warfare, Traquair, and Chris Blair playing their fantastic mix of acoustic, gospel and indie for a fine all round blend of music.

And not to forget our soulful DJ Andy Taylor who'll be taking us into the evening with some classic soul, funk and reggae. All accompanied of course by some delicious bbqed food and sumptuous cocktails.

Some great reasons to head to your favourite bar this Sunday 28th June ................as if you need some.....the fun starts from 2pm.

No point asking here - but I expect they will have it working again shortly. Very unfortunate. There are brochures with full programme in all of the local shops.
