On Thursday nights at The Drawing Room you can catch one of the West End’s best live music nights. ‘The Quiet Riot’, hosted by John Deery, attracts not only some of the best local live talent Glasgow has to offer, but also showcases upcoming talent from cities across the UK.
Regular performers include Ainslie Henderson, from BBC’s Fame Academy, The French Quarter, whose debut album ‘We’re Not French’, was described by The Daily Record as ‘They may not be French, but you should be proud to call them Scottish’, and Connect Festival 2008 performer Chris Blair, who has just released his acclaimed debut album ‘For You To Lead’.
Also watch out for Jim Byrne at The Quiet Riot on 13th November.
Due to its popular appeal among artists and bands, The Quiet Riot acts are booked three months in advance, with headline slots each week. There is also an open mic section at the start of the night for anyone who just feels like getting up and playing, with the reward of free beer for any performer.
A special drinks offer has just been introduced – 5 cans of Red Stripe in a big bucket for £10, which is sure to appeal to students and other groups looking for a great way to relax, unwind and enjoy some great live music in a super-friendly venue as the weekend approaches.
The Quiet Riot gets underway in Drawing Room (1055 Sauchiehall Street, just down from Kelvingrove Art Gallery) from 9pm every Thursday evening. Entry is free.
"Chilled atmosphere, great music and a top venue to play"
