Crowne Plaza Hotel
Join us at the Crowne Plaza Hotel for a very special day of music and more in aid of Yorkhill children's hospital. This will feature some of the best music from Glasgow and beyond.
First off, from 4-6, it's time for the kids. Not the sick ones, but these kids are sick - sick in the sense of being great, e.g. 'Dude, that's sick!' (it was once in the lingo). Get down early to appreciate the thrusting power rock of The Toi and the appealing vocal harmonies of Falling Angels, plus many more acts showcasing the best of Scotland's young music scene.
From 6 p.m. - Andy Flett, The Colts, Outi Smith, Sara Gale, Matthew Malone, Howlin' Radio, Reptile House and more.....When 6 rolls around, Andy Flett will be kicking off a mere seven hours of more musical wonders with a spectacular acoustic set. There will be much to behold: The Colts, fresh from their world travels, epic drinking sessions and excellent new album Weekend Millionaire, will grace us all with their country rock goodness. Outi Smith and Sara Gale present their unique blend of otherworldliness. Fine Crowne Plaza chef and songsmith, Matthew Malone, will be showcasing his intricate picking and intimate singing. Martin Kinnaird, poet at large, will swing your pleasures east and west with his idle whimsy. Comedian Bob Matthews will have you in stitches (pardon the hospital pun). Martin McLaughlin, supreme entertainer and fine model of a gentleman, shall regale us with folk-tinged tunes of wonderment. The renowned Frank 'Sinatra' Holden will be casting his ol' blue eyes across the stage as he croons timeless, swinging classics. Reptile House will be playing a much anticipated full band set. Look out for their upcoming album, Wonderous Wood, which is simply the best music you're likely to hear...ever. More delights courtesy of Dixie Lang, a Glaswegian country tour de force, Howling Radio, The Daddy Naggins, Matthew Dickson and many more will see us comfortably through the choppy waters of a raffle (every charity event has to have one, but ours will be good, we promise).
Tickets cost £10 and are available from the Crowne Plaza hotel (next to the SECC, Congress Road, Glasgow, G 38; telephone 0141 306 9988) or on the door on the night.
