Linlithgow Folk Festival

The 10th Linlithgow Folk Festival will take place on 11th - 14th September, 2008

Photo: whitetop mountain. Only half an hours or so away from Glagow by train from Queen Street Station, and just twenty miles from Edinburgh, Linlithgow is on my list of 'Places to Visit this Summer'.

Birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots, it is of historical interest and a visit to the preserved ruins of the Royal Palace, next to Linlithgow Loch, holds some appeal. You can find more information at: www.linlithgow.com/

Something that particularly interests me is the Linlithgow Folk Festival, which takes place from the 11th - 14th September. Jim will be performing some of his new acoustic numbers at the Festival Showcase on Saturday 13th.

This year's festival programme is lively and varied with great acts and wide community particpation. You can enjoy the many concerts and live music sessions in the pubs and there will be plenty of opportunities for local talent to show off their musical skills. You can pick up some tips at workshops or just sit back and enjoy some great entertainment. Many of the events are free with fun for all the family.
