Cottiers Theatre, 93 - 95 Hyndland Street, Glasgow, G11 5PU

Saturday 2nd June - 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Children's Classic Concerts have been presenting family concerts in Scotland for seventeen years. 'Shake, Rattle and Roll' sees the irrepressible Owen and Olly - CCC's frontmen and percussionists extraordinaire - give an hour long concert featuring music from Brazil to China, Philip Glass to Chopin and of course all the trademark CCC hilarity. They will be joined by local musical legend Eddie McGuire in the dual-role of composer and flautist, to give the Glasgow premiere of Panda Suite - a piece specially written to celebrate the arrival of the pandas in Scotland. The concerts, at 2pm and 4pm on Saturday 2nd June, are priced at £7 for adults and £5 for children if bought in advance, or £9/£6 on the day.

Saturday 16th June, 2012 - 4 p.m.

Cottiers Theatre, 93 - 95 Hyndland Street, Glasgow, G11 5PU

Daniel's Beard are joined for their now annual WEF performance of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf (arranged by Ostermeyer) by BBC Radio Scotland presenter Jamie MacDougall , this year using Liz Lochhead's Glaswegian translation of the text. The programme will also include The Sound of Me, a work developed by Hear My Music as part of a project entitled Drumchapel Sound box. Drumchapel Sound Box worked over a period of 7 months with young people aged 16-25 with a learning disability exploring sound and developing musical and compositional skills. The Sound of Me, by Jennifer Martin, is a culmination of all the musical material collected over this period and explores individual's characters, describing each person musically. The concert will open with the selection of nonsense poems that Lenny Sayers set to music for Daniel's Beard - The Quangle-Wangle's Hat, Jabberwocky, and for the first time, The Owl and the Pussycat. The concert is at 4pm on Saturday 16th June and tickets are £7 in advance (under 16s are free) or £9 on the day.

My name is Nigel, I produce and direct web-content for Tern Television Glasgow. Tern are currently gearing up to produce a brand-new C4/E4 Educational online project, titled ‘Slabovia TV’. We are looking for young talent to Present, Front & Act in our upcoming film projects. We’re principally looking for a core-team of participants aged 14 – 19 yr-old who can act/present/film/comment & contribute short & funny pieces to camera. THE PROJECT Tern Digital are currelty developing & producing a virtual-reality world called Slabovia TV. Slabovia is a world which is based on vague eastern European countries some 30 years behind the rest of western-civilization in terms of culture, technology politics and fashions.... www.slabovia.tv is a massive ARG (alternate reality game) where citizens sign-up to help build a satirical communist country from the ground up. Slabovia has three TV channels (a mix of animation, comedy archive clips and User-Generated-Content) and a weekly newspaper (The Potato) which drive a role playing environment. In the game Slabovians are ordered to pastiche Western culture and colonize the big social networks of the world (My Space, Bebo, Flickr etc). Crucially the people of Slabovia are always desperately trying to emulate Western fads and trends, which they regularly witness on television and the Internet. Hence Slabovia TV have a morning Breakfast News show (‘Wake Up And Smell The Pig’) which features outdoor aerobics classes.., in mud! Slabovia have National ‘Bring A Pig To Work Day’ and are co-inciding the UK launch of....Grand Theft Auto.... to tie in with the launch of Slabovias’ very-own...... ‘Grand Theft Tractor’. We need energetic enthusiastic performers who can work from s and/or ad-lib according to the needs of prevailing/changing filming conditions. At present, I’m sorry to say that there’s next-to-nil budget, but this might change if E4 like the shows. And we hope that the best bits might eventually appear in a compilation ON E4. Although all participants will(at the very-least)get a comedy show-reel made out of their very-own Slabovian contributions. Please log on the website, sign up for the newsletter and see what you get Regards, nigel@terntv.com

Does anyone know of an italian mother & toddler group operating in the West End? If not is anyone interested in starting one. There are already German, Spanish and French groups and it would be great for native speakers or those practising their language skills. I'm not Italian but would like to keep my Italian up to scratch and most importantly surround my baby with the language asap.
