Hand bound books make a fantastic present for friends and family without costing a fortune. You'll never need to buy a scrap book again!
During the session you will learn how to sew your paper, create a cover and bind the two together. All materials are supplied so all you have to do is turn up. At the end you will leave with a beautifully bound book, instructions to remind you of the process and the knowledge to go on and create as many books as you can imagine.

Glasgow University Charity Zip Slide

Would you like to zoom across the River Clyde and raise funds for a good cause? Then you can take part in the third University of Glasgow Charity Zip Slide and raise funds for the Beatson Pebble Appeal or the Paul O'Gorman Leukaemia Research Fund Centre!
No experience is necessary for the Zip Slide as full instruction will be given on the day by ALPS Outdoor. Entry fee is #40.00. Anyone can take part who is over 16 years of age.

West End Community Choir

Voicebeat
Voicebeat is a multicultural singing group, or world music community choir if you like, the only one in Glasgow that we know of. It was started about eight years ago by Jane Tomlinson and is now led by Harry Campbell.
The group sings songs from around the world in easy unaccompanied harmony, often in foreign languages, in an informal, welcoming atmosphere. They are always keen to attract new singers. Whatever your background and experience, you are always welcome.
There’s no audition and you don't need to be able to read music, as all songs are taught by ear.
Voicebeat meets on Mondays (not Thursdays as before) from 7–9pm at The Annexe, Stewartville St, Partick, Glasgow G11 5PE.

Partick Community Players is on the look out for young people aged 10 - 15yrs to become involved in a youth drama class which is held every Thursday from 7 - 8-15pm in Hyndland Primary School. Lots of fun, as well as learning theatre skills, role-play, improvisation.

Friends of the River Kelvin (FORK) have a monthly Clean-Up on the 1st Sat of the month meeting at the Ha'penny Bridge House at 10.30am. They provide gloves and black bags but expect volunteers to provide their own footwear ie wellies or 'stout' shoes. I'm told it is 2 hours or so of fun!
Ha'penny Bridge House is by the old Ha'penny Bridge, before it was swept away by floods. It can be reached by foot down the footsteps in front of Botanic Crescent, off Kelvin Drive, or by car, down the slope next door to the above steps, turning sharp right at the bottom of the slope.
