Glasgow Wood Recycling (GWR) is a social enterprise and charity committed to diverting wood waste from land fill and creating opportunities for local people. This Drumchapel based organisation now has a dedicated retail space in the heart of the West End called 'The Dear Green Place'.

This new store stocks a range of reclaimed wood products including barrel planters, water butts, benches, bird boxes and raised beds. Ideal if you are renovating your back court on a budget or looking for locally produced eco gifts. Schools and community groups are provided with a 15% discount on all reclaimed wood products, to make it even easier to be that little bit greener.

Located at the back of Kelvinhall underground station, where Byres Rd meets Dumbarton Rd, The Dear Green Place will be open Saturdays and Wednesdays throughout December with hours extended in the New Year. With support from a dedicated team of volunteers, it is hoped this unique initiative will become an inspiring and thriving environmental resource. As well as a wood recycling shop the site will also house an eco information point, allotment plot and composting area.
