Cinema For All Glasgow Film

Glasgow Film Theatre,
12 Rose Street,  G3 6RB

‘Cinema For  All’ was created as a motto for Glasgow Film Theatre in the late 1980s, when the second screen was being developed. The tagline still sits under the outdoor canopy and on the mosaic in the foyer. It has always been a worthy ambition – but what does it actually mean for the organisation and the people of Glasgow?

As a third screen is introduced at GFT, the ‘For All’  motto is being revisited and used as a catalyst for moving forward. The aim is  to consider the idea of ‘For All’ within the context of equalities; to look at how  the  GFT contributes to a fairer, more inclusive society; also to examine what diversity looks like today and how can this be reflected  in cinema?
