Travel can broaden the mind but sometimes it just cements prejudices. In Western, a German construction team head to Bulgaria to install a waterpower facility. The boisterous incomers set up camp and raise the national flag but laconic loner Meinhard (Meinhard Neumann) is more curious about the local community. He is soon making friends, drinking rakia and going native but his colleagues cannot overlook the fact that Bulgaria was once under German occupation. Tensions escalate in a taut glimpse into the heart of modern Europe with a powerful cast of non-professional actors.
