It's difficult to find a decent map of the West End of Glasgow on-line, but the Glasgow Guide and Excite maps which cover some of the West End of Glasgow are about the best I have come across.

Transport

Getting to the West End and getting around in the West End is easy because the area is so well served by Glasgow's Underground, which has 4 stops in the West End: Hillhead (for Byres Road and Glasgow University), Kelvinbridge (Hillhead and Gibson Street), Kelvinhall (for Partick Cross, Kelvinhall, Glasgow Art Galleries and Museum and the Transport Museum) and Partick (Dumbarton Road, Partick and Crow Road).

It is also well served by buses running from Argyle Street in the City Centre along Dumbarton Road (these include No.64 to Mountblow and No. 62 to Faifley - just check before you get on that the bus is not going via the Clyde Expressway). There are also a number of buses running from the City Centre along Great Western Road including: No. 20 to Drumchapel and No.118 to Duntocher - both of these can be boarded at Buchanan Street Bus Station.

Also in the City Centre you can get buses to the West End from Bath Street you can pick up a No. 11 to Dalmuir - this will take you along Woodlands Road onto Great Western Road and a No. 59, which will take you also to Woodlands Road and via University Avenue to Hyndland.

You can also board No.11 and No. 66 in St Vincent Street at the Buchanan Street Junction.

(Many of the bus companies require the exact fare so keep some change handy it costs between 65 pence and £1 one way)

Bus timetables are available at Buchanan Street Bus Station.

You can also travel by train from Queen Street Station or Central Station in the City Centre and alight at either Partick or Hyndland. Partick is convenient for linking with the Underground.

Glasgow Airport is well served by regular international and national flights. It is situated approximately 10 miles from the West End (20 - 25 minute journey by taxi costing around £15). There is also a frequent airport bus which runs to Buchanan Street Bus Station.
